You will also be the focus for user support during hours of reduced staffing, attend to publicly accessible equipment and monitor the book security system. Applicants should have a good general level of education and some experience of working in a service organisation. You should also have experience of working within a team and with minimum daily supervision. Good communication skills are essential and basic IT skills would be an advantage. A team of three Service Assistants work flexibly together to ensure continuity of service. The work is arranged in a three-weekly cycle of shifts which includes some evening and weekend working but also some weekdays and a long weekend off. Annual salary increments are payable within the Grade. These posts are not suitable for students in full-time education
