                          ECSS Football Tournament 2007
One thing I would like to say is that some of you may have to wait up to an hour
between matches due to the space on the pitch available to play.
It is important that no one wears boots, players wearing
boots will not be allowed to play.
In the event of rain the event will not be cancelled, we are all going to play through
what ever nature throws at us on Sunday. So please bring and umbrella or something
to stop you getting ill, it’s not my fault if you do!
Please also make sure you bring enough food and water for your team as these will
not be provided unlike past years.
The gates will open at 9:15 and at 9:30 there will be a breakdown with what will
happen during the day. Games start at 10am sharp!
Also due to last years conduct of one team, if there is any trouble this year you
will be ejected from the facilities and individuals will be reported to faculty.

RULES
Event Format
• Each match will consist of two halves of 10 minutes in the group stages
• Ends and kick-off will be picked at the beginning of each game by a flipping
of a coin by the ref and the two captains
• If you are LATE for a game, then you will automatically forfeit that game
• The assigned referee must referee the designated game or points will be
deducted from the team providing the ref.
• Any arguments with the referee’s decision will also result in points being
deducted.
Sports Rules
• Three points will be awarded for a win, one point for a draw.
• Substitutions can be made at any time, as many as you want
• The team that won the coin toss choose an end or kick-off, the loser will get
the other.
• In the event of the goal, the restart will be by the opposing team from the
centre spot
• All free kicks are direct, as soon a the ball is stationary, in the position of the
offence, the opponents are two metres from the ball, and is to the referees
satisfaction, the free kick can be taken.
• Outfield players are permitted in the goal area.
• The goalkeeper may leave the goal area.
• A penalty kick will be awarded a player if they handle in their own area
• Pass back rules apply, so the keeper is not allowed to pick up the ball in the
event of a pass back, otherwise a penalty will be given
• Throw-ins are given if the ball passes the dividing cones or goes off on the
opposite side
• An underarm roll must be used to re-introduce the ball into play from throwins
• At Corners and Goalkeepers are allowed to kick the ball, underarm throw is
not necessary
• The ball is not allowed over head height, little infringements will be
waved (this is for our protection due to the number of lost balls last year).
• If a player receives a red card, the player will not be allowed to play in the
next game, or two yellows.
• Shin pads are optional, and boots is a NO, we are playing on Astroturf so
please bring adequate footwear.
• In the event of teams being level on points in the group matches, goal
difference will decide. If the goal difference is equal, then the team scoring
the most goals shall take the higher position. If still equal, teams shall
participate in a penalty shoot out.
